TKEP.net is a web site with a collection of statistical things (or 'oojits', if you will) designed to examine the progress of The Kill Everyone Project. If you are not aware of what TKEP is, I have no idea why you're here, but I will suggest that you read the FAQ and then read this excellent extended FAQ before going anywhere near the chat. Please only bother signing up and talking if you think you fully understand the concept and are ready to become addicted.

I'm BurningSnowman. Nice to meet you. I received help from blue infinity and Epsiløn in the creation of the country pages. Gasmaster, the creator of homokaasu, provided the data feed and has been very helpful throughout the long drawn out creation of this site. Thanks to those who helped, those who encouraged and those who poked and imploded at useful times.

This site aims to provide a little extra motivation to the loyal and hard-working TKEPers who have got us so far already, and make it that little bit less tedious. This excitement may come in the form of even more numbers, but that sort of thing seems to interest those who play TKEP. So yay.

TKEP.net was first launched at the start of the US, late-ish 2004, having been played with for some months beforehand. The current version was finally completed late September 2005. I still plan to make a couple of small changes before leaving the site be, though there is now only one (huge) country remaining.

Data collection is done through an xml feed on homokaasu. Everything on this end is done through php, because it's effective and it's what I know.
Main data is updated every five minutes. Times are in TKEP time (GMT+0200, sometimes plus daylight savings). Shortened dates are in the format DD/MM/YYYY. Top ranks are rolling figures, covering the last 24 hours and updated once an hour. Hourly and daily records for the Leaderboards are fetched at xx:02 and 00:02 TKEP time each day, respectively.
